New Amateur Domino Record at WDC 2023!

During the second half of July, over 30 Domino Artists of numerous nationalities joined World Domino Collective (WDC) in The Netherlands. Builders from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, UK, and USA joined forces to topple a grand total of 788,390 dominoes! The enormous effort, which sets a new amateur domino record, was orchestrated by the Dutch Domino Team, and really underlines their ambitions to grow the international domino community. This year's falldown video will feature a voiceover explaining the project and an original story about time traveling... all visualized with dominoes! But that’s not all! 3D-printed tools like turtlefield-templates are getting incorporated more and more into these projects, as well as safety-stops, clips for holding fieldstarters and other gadgets. Pim, one of the organizers of the event, says the final fallwall consists of 19 separate fallwalls, which when combined, held a total of 25,650 dominoes! The official falldown video is in the works and very close to being finalized. Definitely be sure to subscribe to the Dutch Domino Team so you don’t miss this masterpiece when it is released!

It’s a huge challenge to manage 30 builders at the same time, keeping in mind that everybody wants to actually build, but most people need to do the preparation instead. In the end we found a nice balance and were able to set up all 800,000 dominoes!
